This Privacy Policy explains how Entrix ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our platform — whether as an attendee buying tickets, an organizer creating events, or just browsing.

By using Entrix you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please do not use the platform.

What We Collect

• Device & browser info: IP address, browser type, operating system
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time on site
• General location: Country/city level, inferred from your IP address

How We Use It

Running the Platform

• Creating and managing your account
• Processing ticket purchases and delivering tickets by email
• Processing organizer payouts
• Providing customer support and resolving disputes

Improving the Experience

• Recommending events based on your activity and location
• Analysing how the platform is used to fix bugs and improve features

Communications

• Sending ticket confirmations and event reminders
• Notifying you of events from organizers you follow
• Sending the Entrix newsletter (only if you subscribed — unsubscribe any time)

Safety & Legal

• Detecting and preventing fraud
• Complying with Nigerian law and any applicable regulations in other jurisdictions

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these circumstances:

With Event Organizers

When you buy a ticket, the event organizer receives your name, email and ticket details so they can manage attendance and communicate event updates. They are not permitted to use this data for unrelated marketing.

With Service Providers

• Paystack — payment processing
• Cloudinary — image hosting for event covers and assets
• Email provider — sending ticket confirmations and notifications
• Railway / hosting provider — server infrastructure

All service providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and use it only for the services they provide to us.

For Legal Reasons

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.

Business Changes

If Entrix is acquired or merges with another business, your data may be transferred. We will notify you in advance.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data:

• HTTPS encryption on all pages
• Passwords are hashed — we cannot see your password
• Payment processing delegated entirely to Paystack (PCI DSS compliant) — we never handle or store raw card data
• Access to user data is restricted to team members who need it

How Long We Keep Your Data

• Account data: Kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal details within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain them
• Transaction records: Kept for up to 7 years to comply with financial regulations
• Newsletter: Until you unsubscribe
• Support messages: Up to 2 years

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct — update inaccurate or incomplete information via account settings or by contacting us
• Delete — request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Unsubscribe — opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or your account settings
• Object — object to certain uses of your data

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep the platform working:

• Session cookies: Keep you logged in during your visit
• CSRF cookies: Protect your account from cross-site request attacks (Django security requirement)
• Preference cookies: Remember your theme (light/dark) setting

We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this will log you out.

Under 18s

Entrix is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from under-18s without parental involvement. If you believe a minor has registered without consent, please contact us and we will remove the account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform grows. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top of the page and notify registered users by email.

Continued use of Entrix after an update means you accept the revised policy.
